
BEES IN THE PARK PROJECT
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The Bees in the Park Project aims to encourage native beekeeping and environmental preservation. This project focuses on five areas of action:
Meliponiculture
Activity responsible for the preservation of native bees, with the multiplication, division, feeding, capture and maintenance of swarms, Training of Meliponiculturists.
Laboratory
Activity related to bee reproduction in the laboratory and queen bee reproduction, Taxinomy of Meliponas Ruffiventris bees and propolis production and analysis.
Landscaping of Jardins do Mel, Agriculture and melipasto planting
Activity related to the preparation of the Bee Forest, installation of honey gardens, planting of meliponicola pasture, creation of a nursery of seedlings of native plants of DF.
Environmental education
Activity related to educating young people, adolescents, and children on the introduction to meliponiculture. Environmental survey of Sarah Kubitschek Park by georeferencing native stingless bee nests, implementation of a bee forest, and an ecological bee corridor.
Technology
Activity related to promoting the project on social media and implementing information technology with the development of the park's bee circuit app.
