HONEY PLANTING AND GARDENS

Objective

Its objective is the planting of meliponical pasture; Preparation of substrates; Separation of specific seeds; Fertilization and preparation of seedlings; Selection of seedlings for bees and preparation of the site for the installation of honey gardens giving priority to feeding the bees, assembling and specifying the appropriate seedlings for landscaping; installation of descriptive totems of stingless bees; installation of reference plaques of the bee project in the park; installation of reference plaques of native species and trees.

Methodology

To carry out this project, we will use a mixture of soil, sand, urea, and manure obtained from the Parque da Cidade equestrian center; acquisition of seedlings of native Cerrado trees; planting of seedlings acquired through donations; production of seedlings from cuttings; production of seedlings from purchased seeds; irrigation carried out through drip irrigation; development of a greenhouse to protect seedlings; at the appropriate time, healthy seedlings will be distributed for planting in the honey gardens, with native bee hives being installed at georeferenced points in Parque Dona Sarah Kubitschek with totems prepared at the institution. This way, the surrounding area will be treated in order to receive the planting of species that will be food sources for those bees.

Goals

Plant healthy flowering plant species that provide food for the beehives that will be installed at the sites, using landscaping techniques. Propagate plants that are important for food and provide a habitat for melipone bees.
